Watertown Daily Times | Business Center to pay $96,700 for roof repairs

Operators of the Watertown Center for Business and Industry recently agreed to spend $96,700 to repair a building roof damaged by high winds April 17 at the Starbuck Avenue complex.

The top layer of a roof on Building C was ripped off when a gust of wind came through, causing damage to ceiling tiles in a conference room, heating and air conditioning ductwork, four light fixtures and carpeting.

The local firm of Aubertine and Currier Architects, Engineers & Land Surveyors was brought in to assess the damage and recommend how to repair the roof. Board members also hired RSI Roofing, Gouverneur, to replace the top layer of the roof.

Work should begin in early June and take about a month to complete, site manager William J. Soluri said.
